The other "Dangal ng Bayan" awardees include Marta Vocalan Vitor (dance/tradition), Rosario Unidad Mag-atas (author/educator), Albert SJ. delos Santos (educator), and Manuel Reyes Pinon (music).
The recipients of the Sangguniang Bayan Award, meanwhile, are Mayor Gerry Calderon (public service), Ms. Edith Castillo Fuentes (music), Prof. Rommel "Jopat" Gragera (music), Jessica Cabano-ang (athlete), and Mark Andrew Orcena (athlete).
The "Sangguniang Bayan" and "Dangal ng Bayan" are two highest awards given by the Municipality of Angono.
Citations will also be given to Jan Lemuel Blanco (music/visual arts), Carlito "Charlie" Anorico (visual arts), Aaron Bautista (visual arts) and Sonny Boy Jaro (boxing) as "Natatanging Mamamayan ng Angono."
The awarding ceremonies will be held on August 19 during the municipality's 74th founding day celebration, in which Top 20 taxpayers and business establishments in Angono will also be recognized.
The Sangguniang Bayan of Angono is composed of Vice-Mayor Ronald Patrick Rubin and councilors Aristito V. Gil, Jeanine M. Rivera, Lucio D. San Pedro Jr., Ginoclem Miranda, Rodrigo S. Reyes, Januver Tiamson, Bernie Blanco Guir, Angelito M. Manalaysay, Capt. Jose V. Calderon and SK Chairman Mico C. Calderon.
Yesterday's session approving the awardees was headed by Councilor Gil as presiding officer. Except for Vice-Mayor Rubin and Councilor Rivera, all the members of the SB were present.
Gappi has been writing for for almost 20 years. He is a graduate of University of the Philippines Diliman. He took up Bachelor of Arts (AB) Philippine Studies (major in Political Science and History) and earned units in Master of Arts (MA) Creative Writing (major in Poetry).
