The Sto. Niño exhibit was officially opened last June 21 at the activity area of the Robinsons Place Tacloban Extension.
Before the opening of the exhibit, all the images of Sto. Niño were met at the entrance of the Robinsons Place by a Pintados tribe before they were blessed by Rev. Fr. Erwin Balagapo of the Sto. Niño Parish of Tacloban City.
The exhibit of the Santo Niño images in different presentations and sizes ends on June 23. Mr. Eugene Tan, the president of the Pintados Foundation disclosed.
About 15 Santo Niño images were loaned by their owners to the Pintados Foundation for the exhibit most of who are members and friends of the Foundation.
Evelina Acebedo, vice president of the Foundation, informed that Sto. Niño novenas are given free to the visitors during the entire duration of the Exhibit.
Through the exhibit, the Pintados Foundation hopes to propagate and keep alive the devotion to the Protector and Patron of the entire province of Leyte whose Feast Day is on June 30.
Pintados Festival is a cultural-religious celebration in Tacloban based on the body-painting traditions of the ancient tattooed "pintados" warriors and how they come to worship the Santo Niño. (PIA 8)
